The Art at Your Library Oct./Nov. Show exhibit features the Plein Air Painters of Dubuque, also known as the PPODS. This group of artists includes Kim Daykin, Deb Otto, Ellen Henkels, Linda Grice, Rabecca Jayne Hennessey, Pam Hiatt, Julie Ferring, Rose Ann Derks, Alda Kaufman, Barbara Heitzman, Rita Persian, Mercedes Pfab, Kate Cooper, and Renee Meyer.
Please join us for the opening reception on Friday, Oct. 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Meet the artists, purchase artworks, and enjoy live music from JazzQ, featuring faculty from the Northeast Iowa School of Music, as well as light refreshments.
The Plein Air Painters of Dubuque formed in the summer of 2016 and began painting once a week at different outdoor locations to capture the landscape, the spontaneity of light, and weather conditions. “Plein Air” is a French term for painting “in the open air,” much like the Impressionist tradition of painting from nature.
The Art at Your Library Oct./Nov. Show is open to the public during regular library hours. Artworks on display are also available for purchase.
