The Library is Your Holiday Headquarters

Carnegie-Stout Public Library is your holiday headquarters! We have what you need to bring good tidings and joy this season. Here are five great ways you can use the library to make your holiday season a little easier.

1. O Come All Ye Makers
Santa’s little helpers (a.k.a. our Maker Space staff) are ready to help you deck the halls and bring your gifts ideas to life! Create 3D ornaments, make photo keepsakes, stitch names on stockings with the embroidery machine, print custom sublimation designs to use on clothing, mugs, keychains, and so much more! The Maker Space is located on the second floor and is open during regular library hours.

2. Baking Spirits Bright
We have cake pans, molds, and specialty baking pans available to borrow. Check one out and make a beautiful bake to impress friends, family, or co-workers at your next holiday party! (And don’t forget to browse our cookbooks for yummy holiday recipes.)

3. Jingle All the Way
Play your favorite holiday hits on repeat with hoopla or freegal. Whether you’re rockin’ around the Christmas tree with family or celebrating Hanukkah with your friend Veronica, all you need is your Dubuque resident library card.

4. Merry Movies
Stream festive films for free with your Dubuque resident library card! Find Christmas classics, family-friendly tales, modern favorites, and unconventional holiday movies on hoopla and kanopy. Plus, hoopla has all the heartwarming, wholesome movies from Hallmark and Lifetime!

5. Reindeer Games
Family gatherings are the perfect time for family games! But don’t run out to buy something new or dig around in your basement for that old Trivial Pursuit game. Use your library card to borrow a board game! Check out our collection of popular and modern board games to bring home some friendly competition and fun.
