The Arboretum Artists have brought their creativity and beauty to the Dubuque Arboretum Garden Room and local galleries for years. Now, they take center stage as the featured artists for the latest Art @ Your Library show at the Carnegie-Stout Public Library .
This Art @ Your Library show will exhibit through May 24 during regular library hours. Art pieces on display are also available for purchase. If you would like to purchase an item, please ask the administration office or a staff person for assistance.
About the Artists:
- Kim Daykin loves color and her most enjoyable subjects are flowers, scenery, and portraits. She has studied at Julian Art Center, Studio B, Dubuque Art Center, and Roberta Kuhn Center. She is also a member of the Plein Air Painters of Dubuque.
- Rose Ann Derks paints primarily in still life and portraits with watercolor. She has a BFA from Clarke College and is a signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society.
- Joann Hackbarth paints with acrylics, pastels, and oils. She finds nature endlessly inspiring and challenging.
- Sharon Krapfl works with various media with a concentration in watercolors. She primarily paints Dubuque-area landscapes and loves exploring the interplay of light and shadow.
- Ellen Henkels is an educator and award-winning painter. Her oil and acrylic work has been exhibited widely in group and solo exhibits.
- Donna Gibson draws and works with pastels. Her favorite subject matter is the tri-state area landscape. After teaching art at Washington Middle School for 30 years, she is concentrating on her work and has paintings in private collections throughout the Midwest.
- Alda Kaufman paints locally with the Plein Air Painters of Dubuque and the Arboretum Artists. Her work hangs in many homes and businesses.
- Rita Persian enjoys painting in her studio and outdoors. She finds inspiration and motivation as a member of the Plein Air Painters of Dubuque and the Arboretum Artists.
