Join a welcoming community of readers this fall and sign up for the Inspire Your Shelf: Branching Out challenge!
Carnegie-Stout’s yearlong reading challenge for adults, Inspire Your Shelf, has announced the fall challenge theme of Branching Out. We’ve announced new monthly reading challenges, season-long non-reading challenges, and are getting a new batch of stickers (and electronic badges) ready for adult readers to collect!
To participate, stop by the second floor Reference Desk to pick up the paper reading log or the September-December inserts to add to your log. Librarians will also be happy to help you set up the Beanstack app so that you can track your reading on your phone. Participants are welcome to use both a paper log and Beanstack!
If you’re not sure where to start for the monthly reading challenges or the season-long activity challenges, we’ve put together some helpful suggestions on our website: https://carnegiestout.org/inspire-your-shelf/
Have you been using Beanstack this year? Did you know that you can add friends on the app to see who has read more this week or to share reviews of the books you’ve loved (or hated)? This video from the Sewickley Public Library shows you how to add Friends in the Beanstack app: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFbt9DUgIkY
We also need your help! We’re starting to plan our Inspire Your Shelf party for January 2027 and we want to know what would make a party fun for you. Share your thoughts in the comments here or send us an email at yourlibrarian@carnegiestout.org.
