This month, we’re delighted to spotlight Lindsey, a reader whose love of books has grown with her from preschool storytimes to her years as a dedicated elementary school teacher. Even with reading comprehension challenges, Lindsey has never let anything dim her enthusiasm for stories – and her commitment to reading is as inspiring as it is heartfelt.

December Reader of the Month Q&A:
What books are you currently reading?
- I was reading the sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee called Go Set a Watchman.
What is the best book you have read within the last year (or ever)?
- To pick one favorite book I have read within my lifetime is difficult because there are many great story tellers out there! I did enjoy reading my husband’s book that he recently published called Errant Fire.
What is your ideal reading environment?
- I prefer to read outside while walking! I can’t remember at what point I started walking while reading, but have found this is my favorite environment to do it in. I get my exercise in and am a few pages further into my book!
What book am you looking forward to reading next?
- I don’t have a specific one I plan to read next, but my aim is to have my husband pick out a book for me to read. I’ll be curious to see what he picks out, knowing we generally read different genres.
What format do you prefer and why?
- I prefer to read paper books rather than on a mobile device or through audio book. My attention wanders very easily through audio book so I do my best to stay away from that format.
Do you remember when your love for reading began?
- I believe it was when I was in my preschool years. I am grateful for parents, grandparents, teachers and friends who read to me growing up who helped spark this passion!
