Most people are aware that you can borrow more than just books from the library. Our collection also includes the digital library as well as non-traditional items and technology items, like Kindle Fire tablets, which are available for check out from the Maker Space.
Kindles offer another great way to read your favorite books. In fact, these Kindles come pre-loaded with books from one of four genres: Mystery, Romance, Inspirational, and Best Sellers. Each themed Kindle has a selection of about 20 books that include a mix of recent releases, classics, and popular titles.
For instance, on a Kindle with mystery books, you’ll find titles by quintessential mystery authors like Agatha Christie and Mary Higgins Clark. But you’ll also find cozy mystery titles like “Raspberry Danish Murder” by Joanne Fluke, popular titles like “The Flight Attendant” by Chris Bohjalian (which has been adapted into a miniseries for HBO), and humorous titles like “Hope Never Dies: An Obama Biden Mystery” by Andrew Shaffer (an Iowa native). You can see titles available on each Kindle here.
Another benefit of the Kindle Fire is that you can browse the internet and use available apps, like Zoom. So if you have an online course or a library virtual program you want to attend but are lacking a device, borrow a Kindle Fire!
